By using Gormat ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Gormat is a recipe management app that lets you scan, organize, and cook recipes, create meal plans, and build shopping lists. Some features use AI to process recipe content.
You may sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload, scan, import, or otherwise submit any recipe, photo, or other content to Gormat. By submitting content to the service, you represent and warrant that:
License grant. By uploading, scanning, importing, or syncing any recipe content (including but not limited to recipe titles, ingredient lists, preparation steps, photos, and associated metadata) to Gormat, you grant Gormat a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content in any media or format, whether now known or later developed. This license survives account deletion.
How we may use recipe content. Without limiting the generality of the license above, you acknowledge and agree that Gormat may:
No obligation. Gormat is under no obligation to use, display, or retain any content you submit, and may remove content at any time for any reason.
Recipes are functional works. Gormat operates on the principle that recipe ingredient lists and basic cooking instructions are functional, factual information that is generally not subject to copyright protection. Creative expression in recipe headnotes, personal narratives, and original photography may carry separate protections. By uploading content to Gormat, you acknowledge this distinction and accept the license terms in Section 3 regardless.
DMCA and takedown. If you believe content on Gormat infringes your copyright, contact us at legal@gormat.app with a description of the copyrighted work, the infringing content, and your contact information. We will respond to valid takedown requests in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
EU Digital Services Act. For users in the European Union, we also accept notices of illegal content under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). Notices should include the same information described above and be sent to legal@gormat.app. We will acknowledge receipt and act on valid notices without undue delay, in accordance with Articles 16 and 17 of the DSA.
Gormat uses artificial intelligence — including third-party AI services and our own models — to scan recipes, generate meal plans, estimate nutritional information, and power other features. The specific AI providers and models we use may change at any time without notice.
Nutritional estimates are approximate. Calorie counts, macronutrient breakdowns, and other nutritional information displayed in the app are AI-generated estimates intended as a cosmetic feature to enhance your experience. They are not verified by nutritionists, dietitians, or laboratory analysis. Do not rely on this information for medical, dietary, or health-related decisions.
Ingredient lists may be incomplete or inaccurate. When recipes are scanned or imported, ingredient parsing is performed by AI and may miss, misidentify, or incorrectly categorize ingredients. Gormat does not guarantee that ingredient lists are complete, accurate, or free of errors.
AI-generated content (such as suggested recipes, meal plans, or nutritional data) is provided "as is." AI-generated recipes may be derived in part from user-submitted recipe data. Always use your own judgment when preparing food.
Gormat is not a medical or dietary tool. The app does not provide medical advice, dietary counseling, or allergen safety guarantees of any kind.
Allergen warnings. Gormat may attempt to identify or filter recipes based on dietary preferences or common allergens (such as nuts, gluten, dairy, shellfish, soy, eggs, etc.). However, these identifications are AI-generated best guesses and must not be relied upon by individuals with food allergies, intolerances, celiac disease, or other medical conditions. Specifically:
If you have food allergies or medical dietary restrictions, always independently verify every ingredient before preparing or consuming any recipe. Gormat assumes no liability for allergic reactions, adverse health effects, or any harm resulting from reliance on recipe content, ingredient lists, dietary filters, or nutritional estimates provided by the app.
The app may link to Instacart for grocery ordering. These links are affiliate links managed through Impact.com, and Gormat may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Instacart is a third-party service with its own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for Instacart's service, pricing, availability, or any transactions you make through Instacart.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gormat, its operators, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
We strive to keep Gormat available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Your locally stored data remains accessible regardless of server availability.
Gormat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to allergic reactions, adverse health effects, food safety issues, reliance on nutritional estimates or dietary filters, loss of data, or intellectual property disputes arising from content you submitted.
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, we will delete your account and directly associated data (your recipe library, meal plans, and shopping lists) from our servers. However, we are under no obligation to identify or remove derivative works, aggregated data, AI model weights, community recipes, or other content that was derived from or influenced by your submissions. Such derivative data may persist indefinitely at our sole discretion.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
